Near Mint Klira Violin Bass on the ‘Bay

I saw this auction the other day and since I can’t afford to pick it up myself, thought I’d share it with anyone out there that might be looking for a nice Klira. For those not familiar with Klira Basses, they were made in Germany and are very similar to Hofners - supposedly made in the same town/village, although I can’t personally verify that information.

I’d also like to point out to anyone thinking of selling an instrument on eBay - PICTURES ARE WORTH ONE MILLION BAJILLION WORDS/DOLLARS/EUROS. I know from personal experience that clear, hi-resolution images can have a significant impact on the number of bids and the final value of the auction. The bigger and clearer, the higher the bids will be. This auction is a perfect example of this. See below for some smaller pics, and check out the auction here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270075210543.

Hey I was wondering what these were priced at also. I don’t plan a getting rid of mine cause it was purchased by my grandfather in germany in the 1960’s so I would like to hold on to it. But Mine also has the original case and shoulder strap that was purchased with it. I love the way this old bass sounds.
