Current Warmoth Showcase Inventory Has Some Nice Wood

I feel dirty after writing that headline……

Anyway, I added the Warmoth Showcase RSS feed to my Bloglines account a while ago. I haven’t done a lot of research into how many other guitar companies are using RSS to keep potential buyers updated on their stock, but it was a good call on Warmoth’s part. There were so many nice bass necks in there that I thought I’d share a few with you guys. These are all ‘non-standard’ wood choices. No Maple/Maple or Maple/Rosewood here:

Wenge Neck w/ Brazilian Rosewood Board ($293):

Bubinga Neck w/ Pau Ferro Board ($257):

Bubinga Neck w/ Bubinga Board ($259):

Bubinga Neck w/ Ebony Board ($263):

Another Bubinga Neck w/ Pau Ferro Board ($257):

There are also a couple Rosewood/Rosewood necks, but those are priced at $599, which is pretty steep. The coolest part about the necks I’ve listed here is that they don’t need to be finished! The woods are hard enough that they will stay true, unlike a standard Maple neck. Plus woods like Wenge feel great on the hand and play faster because of the “open” character of the wood grain. It’s like the antithesis of a Fender sticky glossy finish.

Glad you like the RSS product feed! I’m a big computer geek as well as a guitar guy, and I got the idea from Newegg. Some nice necks you’ve got there! I’ve got a wenge/ebony J neck myself - it feels really good to play an unfinished neck, and it’s got a great growl.
