Alex, I am considering either a Broadcaster or an Electrotone, but am unable to try out the Electrotone. Other than cosmetics, how would you compare the two sonically, playbility, whatever info would be very much appreciated. Thanks

I've been emailing Gretsch for years about making a Gretsch Falcon Bass. I even asked them if they could make me a custom bass out of their 6119B except with Falcon Hardware and the Falcon Headstock but they said no. Anyway this is one of my dream basses for years. Its a shame that the time it comes out is the time I cant afford one. I just wish they made the Silver Falcon into a bass as well. I wouldnt care what I'd have to sell to get my hands on one of those. http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/index.php?product=G6136TSL&cat1=&cat2=&q=&st=1 Now imagine that as a bass!!!! Im drooling. Anyway "BASSMAN" to answer your question about the round leather pad on the back, its to prevent belt scratches on the finish (not that anyone willing to pay $3500 for this bass would be stupid enough to wear something that would scratch it during a show but there are idiots out there). Anyway as for the tone I cant be quite sure exactly how it sounds because I've never played this model but one of my basses is a Gretsch G6073 and it has the same TV Jones Thundertron pickups and it sounds amazing! I would think the only difference between the two would be that my G6073 has simulated F holes and this one has real F holes. Anyway I would recommend a Gretsch to any Hollowbody Bass enthusiast. I own two. I have a Gretsch 6119B Broadkaster Bass, and a Gretsch G6073 Electrotone and I love those Basses!!! I also have a couple of others like a Epiphone Jack Cassady but If I was doing a huge show and I had only one bass to choose it would definately be a Gretsch!

According to MusiciansFriend, it goes for $4500, standard. They only charge $3600 for it: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gretsch-Guitars-G6136LSB-White-Falcon-Long-Scale-Bass?sku=514191

If only I had $3600 to spare.

My God it's gorgeous! I've always been a White Falcon fan and this is a dream come true! I mean, it would be a dream if I had like 3000$...

What's the round thing on the back supposed to do?
