It’s been a looooong time since I’ve seen a Kimberly Firebird Guitar. (We’re talking years.) I’ve never seen a bass version before.

This particular bass has some pretty heavy wear, and the action is pretty high based on some of the pictures in the auction. If I had gobs of cash laying around, I might pick this one up for $300, to keep until one in better condition is found. But alas, I do not have gobs of cash.

I really like the look, which isn’t surprising considering I like anything that veers from the norm. Plus, based on the fact that the upper horn appears to extend out to the 12th fret or so, I’m guessing that it doesn’t suffer from the neck dive that afflicts more traditional hollowbody basses.
